Looking forward a lot of people have been talking about Lux going up against fan favorite Hollow Da Don. Hollow, recently off a stint in lockup, is one of the best doing it right now. This battle probably wouldn't happen until Summer Madness III if I had to guess but it could be something special. Lux brings lyricism that makes you pause and rewind to catch it again, mixed with confidence and overwhelming presence that can not be ignored. Hollow on the other hand, the only person in recent memory to call out Lux, mixes aggression, hilarious bars, and some of the most amazing freestlye ability anybody's ever seen. This is a battle fans dream to see and hopefully Smack can get this together. Till then we can reminisce about how disappointing the Murda Mook, Iron Solomon matchup was.

Loaded Lux vs Hollow Da Don
One of my favorite battlers when active, Loaded Lux, made his legendary return to the "sport" of battle rap not so long ago at Summer Madness II, propelling what seemed to spearhead a big surge of love from mainstream rappers and fans. Lux's performance was incredible and I've watched that third round more times then I can count. Given he did choke in the battle he may have gotten a little more love then maybe he deserved but his charisma and "YOU GOIN GET THIS WORK' was enough to make anyone forget. Calicoe did his thing too but that day was all about Lux.
2013: The Year of Battle Rap
Intro: Ill make it short. I hated arguing on youtube or rap forums about battles, artists, music, etc. so I decided writing about it would be dope. I figure even if people dont like reading this I will. Enjoy.

For a while now the popularity of major battle leagues like Grindtime, King of the Dot, DontFlop, and Smack/URL have really been captivating the attention of hiphop fans and others alike to maybe the first real form of hip hop as it was, battling. As a fan its been very exciting to see the evolution and I know we long time fans all hope they keep their integrity as it slowly but surely will become more commercialized but I hope they can all prosper and make their money while protecting the culture. Anyway its a new year so lets see what happens.
